Capacity Centralization

Centralized storage is easier to manage, grow, and protect. The Panzura System manages file services at the edge of the network, close to users. This allows administrators to centrally locate their storage systems, but without the typical compromises to performance and accessibility for remote file system clients. The centralized storage repository (“the core”) can be existing storage that is repurposed for use with the Panzura System, a private cloud, or a public cloud storage service.

Eliminate storage islands – the Panzura System delivers advanced file services close to users while enabling the underlying capacity to be placed and managed centrally.  Remote storage systems and their associated backups are no longer needed.

Gain economies of scale – with capacity growth aggregated in one location, planning for, purchasing, and installing new capacity becomes more economical since large additions in capacity can be effectively leveraged across the entire corporation, rather than having to make smaller, incremental purchases at each site.

Improve data protection – centralized capacity can be protected with a single backup and disaster recovery plan, rather than using an amalgam of site-specific procedures and tools.  If a public cloud is leveraged as the core data repository, data protection is inherently offsite and replicated, removing the need to provide data protection, since it is managed by the cloud service provider.
